Ditto. Health always comes first.

Back to sleeping this off. Not much sense in being awake while the room constantly spins. Especially when I’m completely sober. Migraine medicine is expensive, hopefully my new doctor doesn’t put me on something new and even more expensive.

For now I’m useless, I’ll try to repsoond here and there while lights and sound don’t make the room spin.

Yeah saw someone compare the Series One X Model S with a bottle of Insulin, think the XBox was cheaper by a small bit due to the medical costs and how it’s handled in the US though I know very little on how the system is intended to work. (Insurances and how this then varies between states I think was part of it.)

EDIT: There it is.

Damn, so sorry about that. Im also on medicine due to diagnosed bipolar disorder but thanks god here in argentina I`ve got all covered by state social security.
Hope you find a good treatment.

I take it Ibuprofen Lysine doesn’t work for you? I’m not familiar with medicines, so forgive me if i don’t know what i’m talking about. I use Ibuprofen whenever i have a headache, and it’s affordable. I used to get headaches daily because i’m sensitive to loud sounds, and it’s always worked. I’ve leant more towards wearing earplugs recently though, since any type of medicine scares me even when i know it’s safe.

So when I saw this I thought oh a Monster Hunter World Live Action movie. Nope its nothing about it:

Wasn’t there one earlier?

Up now I think is Castlevania and recently also Dragons Dogma via Netflix.

Ah I see now after doing some more searching that’s the teaser for the actual movie.

Game wise I think it’s pretty much packed up for World and next up is err what’s it called again Rise I think but it’s on Switch.

Totally research related.

Is he closing the wrong eye?

Well it’s a video game adaption so video game gun rules must apply.

Rule of cool means the casing ejects towards the player/wielder.

(Far Cry 6 here showing it’s still very much in effect.)

EDIT: Although Monster Hunter World’s higher tiers for a particular weapon also drop all pretense for what the larger bowguns are actually inspired by when they get closer to cannons or heavy assault weapons rather than crossbows.

EDIT: Well there’s plenty of tropes on the subject of video game and movie firearm rules from the shotgun of extreme close distance only to silencer effectiveness and overall gun safety ha ha.

It’s a action fantasy movie so nitpicking on reloading and maintenance or ammo capacity and what not is perhaps a bit much.

Interesting direction to try and have a more modern setting though.

Is that… grass shadows?? o.O

Just checked who’s involved with the Monster Hunter movie, after seeing how the gun is handled. The director behind it is, uhh, yeah, don’t expect anything good.

It’s not Uwe Boll at least although for all he did the video game adaptions had some faithfulness to the source material.

And yeah it seems Dunia is still undergoing modernization combining the fancy shaders of Far Cry 4 with the material system in Far Cry 5 and ray tracing effects.

EDIT: Some might be pushing it actually, plus a few not pictured above.

EDIT:
But I don’t know, video game adaptions are tricky even by more established renowned directors and with enough time and budget too.

It’s not just video game movie tie ins that have problems here.

Who the hell gave the thumbs up to Bloodrayne sequels? The first one is a box office bomb. I can only assume the director was also one of the main producers. Not familiar with him though.

Nowadays I suppose the rise of the TV series over the full feature film and direct to streaming of shows also helps, there’s upcoming adaptions of several more games too but I think a few of these are also still doing the cinema showing and not just immediately to streaming services that has now replaced the direct to disc releases.

EDIT: Netflix and the like probably also have the cash to buy licenses like this too and it’s probably mostly about money with almost all titles up for the right price.

Part of the problem is trying to fit the videogame world and story into a movie, it can be like trying to trim a TV show down to movie format. Of the videogame movies i’ve seen, Tomb Raider 2018 did it best, i actually liked the first act, though it sorta went downhill from there imo, but they still managed to pace it well. Tomb Raider is pretty simple a concept to handle though.

Yep, stand-alone adaptions probably fare a bit better but books, movies and video games plus a feature length film is one and a half to two hours trying to fit in more content.

Longer running series instead risk having these filler episodes or feeling like they go on for too long instead though some genres probably work better than others.

Seems there’s a few planned for 2020 - 2021 still.

Tomb Raider 2, Uncharted, Minecraft and Monster Hunter World.

With TV shows, you could definitely go all out. I’d be surprised if Netflix aren’t looking for more IPs to adapt, after The Witcher’s success. I recall a Cuphead show being confirmed, but that’s about it.

There’s a Resident Evil one too.

EDIT: Wonder how they’ll top the stuff Vendetta showed special agent Leon S Kennedy and Chris “Boulder” Redfield being capable of.

EDIT: Although animated and not the fully live action.

Actually on that note the 1930’s cartoon inspired Cuphead as a a live action adaption even with CGI assistance would be strange and unique I suppose.

EDIT:

Well 1980’s 1990’s animation or just live action for that matter might have been graphic and experimental but it wasn’t quite nightmare fuel.

:eyes: the very reason Special K exists

If anyone with a HDR display has time to check, does this look good or not? Especially the landscape shots from 0:47 onwards. I own the camera used here (GH5) and i’m curious if i should shift over to the Hybrid Log Gamma profile for my work. I’d probably be limited with colour grading though.
