There’s going to be an FF16? Square Enix cannot even decide on how many Final Fantasy 7 Remakes they want to produce I figure I’ll be dead by the time they get around to finishing that, then re-releasing Final Fantasy 8 for the 50th time, and all the entries in-between.
Grrr!
I hate Internet-based DRM that doesn’t actually work.
Why’d I even buy that stupid game?
Was it ever cracked?
Damn, looks like the answer is no. Well, I’m not working on that game anymore, good job Rockstar.
I actually own 4 copies of the game. (PS4, Xbox One X, and 2 copies on PC). Only my PS4 and Xbox One copies work, apparently.
That Demon Souls gameplay trailer disappeared from the Playstation YT channel
At the end it has a little footnote saying also available on PC. Obviously no timing information or anything, so it could just be a year later like 15.
The trailer on the official Square-Enix channel says that it is a Playstation 5 timed exclusive. So probably gonna be same as FF15. Typical for Square-Enix. They’ve learned they can easily double dip. They’ve done it with more than just FF15 (both Dragon Quest Heroes games come to mind immediately), minds well do it with this one as well.
GUYS, amazing update for MSFS 2020
PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT
Optimized cockpit screen display when screens are not displayed on screen.
New option available to control cockpit screen update frequency.
Tweaked CPU thread priorities to reduce interruption of frame critical threads.
Optimized loading system to reduce overall loading times.
Optimized heavy airport scenes impact on CPU.
Reduced the amount of GPU overdraw to improve GPU performance.
Memory optimizations to reduce software memory footprint and improve performance on memory limited computers.
Overall performance optimizations.
Imagine if the gains were so massive that DigitalFoundry and the hardware community suddenly backtracked and decided that MSFS 2020 wasn’t a “next-gen game” any longer
Ohhh! I see what the actual problem here is.
I, uh, made the mistake of buying the Steam version. When I was perma-community banned from all of Steam, that KillahInstinct basically revoked my license for the game due to the way account linking works with Rockstar Social.
Valve really has absolutely no idea how their ban system works :-\ I’m done buying games on Steam, this is absurd.
Strange, community features shouldn’t interact with RGSC or I would hope the two aren’t linked at least it should be the main Steam account which is far as I know never really removed entirely.
The game gets updated periodically and it uses Arxan(?) I think on top of RGSC client requirements.
Harder bound to RGSC too, GTA V has mods for removing that dependency outright though Red Dead 2 wasn’t as popular to mod though it’s not entirely dead either in terms of community tools and script loaders.
EDIT: Wonder if offline mode works.
Offline sign-in and the remember me option ticked in the Rockstar Social Club / Rockstar Game client and Steam I suppose might need to be in offline mode as well long as the game has been run at least once in online mode and nothing has invalidated that activation or there’s no online mess-up with the servers when re-activating which is needed now and again.
(Hardware changes, major OS updates and possibly a timed thing too similar to Denuvo.)
EDIT: Manual activation and checking the license status seem to be a thing too from somewhere in Rockstar’s website and account settings from what I can find. Possibly the client/game launcher too.
(Again similar to a manual activation with Denuvo.)
Hmm.

Interesting decision there Capcom.
EDIT: Seems that someone on ResetEra also found the full listing for this version of the game.

(Since the embedding cuts off a bit of it.)
Lol, what’s up with the PC treatment? Fake Demon Souls announcement, DMC 5 SE features partially available etc. I was looking forward to both
Exclusivity and console platform agreements I assume, timed exclusivity is what I expect around 6 - 12 months but as usual they’ll never really talk about it there will just be a separate announcement and reveal later as these agreements end and then attempts to double dip on sales in addition to what Microsoft or Sony might be paying though I assume these deals are more for console platform exclusivity more so than PC.
They wouldn’t make artwork and trailers well in advance and then backtrack on it entirely but it could either a marketing thing hinting at a later PC port or a decision from upper management to hold on any info that came a bit late, happens although media communication should have been possible to handle better if that’s the case here.
Capcom I don’t really know the game itself is already out so doing feature updates only on consoles seems like a silly attempt to maximize sales on PS5 and XSX more than anything with the Vergil DLC added as a paid option on PC.
(505’s trying that with Control for consoles but also made the Steam edition the complete and updated version.)
Guessing stuff like RE7 VR and this update wouldn’t really sell as DLC patches.
Monster Hunter World and Iceborne as a potential candidate too but the team was also new to PC porting and has been doing a pretty good job even before the main Iceborne extension though feature parity with console took a bit of time.
EDIT: Might even lend further credibility from Sony in regards to the rumors around Bloodborne and God of War just that they’re waiting on a time frame for the reveal plus a potential conflict of interest with the PS5 and either upgraded versions instead of just straight backwards compatibility or a PC port with various updates that can then be brought over to the PS5 too in the process.
But there’s going to be a variety of updates, re-releases and other editions that are also fully console exclusive at least in regards to the Playstation console, Microsoft seems to be going more for PC/XSX particularly pushing their focus for the Game Pass now that it’s out of it’s trial phase at least for PC.
(Though the UWP backend has more work to be done it seems.)
Could certainly be handled better though, this isn’t like the 1990’s where there’s a bunch of competing platforms with their own hardware and advantages and a dozen or so separate editions of games coming out over a year or more ranging from downgrades to full upgrades or a mix of new features and restrictions due to hardware.
PC DOS, Nintendo, Amiga, Apple and later on also SEGA or other home console and computer systems.
Anything from FMV capabilities to enhanced gameplay or visual effects and music or sound including voice acting and what not.
These days with the hardware similarities and larger development teams it should be possible to handle simultaneous releases and feature parity a lot better especially with the new consoles here.
But there’s always going to be these deals and more especially during the early first months to a year or so but at least it should be better for the PC market than the early to mid 2000’s was.
(Though with a bit of this going on and possible a continuation of the timed exclusivity deals.)
EDIT: Yeah I’m turning into a bit of a senior ha ha.
Missed the earlier parts of the 1970’s arcade boom and the resulting ports of these with various results to the 1980’s home systems though so not quite that old.
Still another five years to go too before I can have that 40’s mid-life crisis event thing.
Hmm, i do still have that Hogwarts game to look forward to though
On the bright side… 12-bit 4K / 120 Hz DOOM Eternal HDR.

This is ■■■■■■■ disappointing… It doesn’t seem as if Swedish retailers got any 3080 cards at all, or at most only single digits or something.
I haven’t seen anyone actually be in stock and all of them shows that hundreds are incoming within 1-2 weeks.
Komplett has a few but not many, Webhallen is still holding their stock likely drumming up interest and pre-orders.
Rest I’m not so sure about, price varies from 8000 to over 10000 so there’s some markup or how it’s called as well, some of the smaller retailers I’ve used through Prisjakt or Pricerunner might have stock too but it’s often at a higher price point.
Komplett is listing a few models at a preliminary October 7th date too but there should be a gradual increase of different models throughout September although I’ve only seen 3080’s so far and yeah only a few models.
EDIT: Seems Webhallen is out of stock now since I checked an hour ago, just a few of the mid-tier Gigabyte variants and some Zotac I think it was.
EDIT: Komplett’s out too now. Think that’s about it for the initial shipment then mostly.
Holding it to around three in the afternoon would see it sell out almost immediately plus the number of pre-orders and the few available models in stock.
Think some of the UK shops warned about limited availability plus here there’s shipping to the entire EU so 5 - 15 GPU’s is going to go very quickly for the first batch.
Some of the German retailers also had people camping outside for physical purchases but one of those Microcenters or what it was called had three cards in stock total so that would have been going immediately.
EDIT: Bit of a paper launch I suppose, technically out but the real GPU availability might not be until early October though I am curious how well NVIDIA can match demand here plus the obvious with people mass purchasing for resale purposes besides what some shops might attempt by raising the prices also.
Suppose Amazon and such will see some GPU’s over the week from third parties though even with a price premium they might still sell out fairly quickly.
EDIT: Unsure about street dates and other means too, some people posted buying these cards yesterday so some stock might have gone from that too although from my knowledge on the subject stores here are under some stricter checks so you can’t really get anything out from warehouses or what not or employees taking some of the stuff for themselves.

Limitations in This Release
The following features are not currently supported or have limited support in this driver release:
Using HDR with Games
There may be issues resulting from the interaction between in-game HDR settings and the Windows HDR settings. See the NVIDIA Knowledge Base Article 5072 (Considerations for Playing Games with HDR Enabled | NVIDIA) for details.
Implicit SLI Disabled on NVIDIA Ampere GPUs
Implicit SLI, where the driver makes assumptions with application profiles to achieve GPU scaling, is disabled on NVIDIA Ampere GPUs. Explicit SLI is still supported, where the application knows the SLI state and uses extensions (such as DirectX 12 linked nodes, Vulkan device groups, or OpenGL multicast extensions) to issue commands to each device in the SLI group. See the NVIDIA Knowledge Base Article 5082 (NVIDIA SLI Support Transitioning to Native Game Integrations | NVIDIA) for more information.
I think the sharpening info is unchanged though for limits and how it works.
EDIT: And then the fixed issues and known issues sections.
