Special K says running but not working in game

As the title suggests, I tried to run a game with speical K injected, special K says “running”, but nothing shows up on the game screen. Not even when I pressed ctrl+shift+backspace.

This happens to multiple games I have, but I wasn’t quite sure if the games are just incompatible. But this time it’s a game I’ve successfully injected special K with before (2 or 3 years ago), even modding the textures. I once uninstalled the game and am now trying to play it with special K again, but it just doesn’t work. I’ve also switched to a new PC since then, maybe that’s the problem?

The game is called “Tales of Arise“ btw. Please help.

Problem solved. Had to run SK in administrator mode.

i’d suggest not running the game or its launcher/steam as admin.

sk’s global injection service by default doesn’t inject into processes that are running admin

and it’s generally not needed to run games as admin…

No, I ran Special K as admin, no the game lol. Thank you for the reply tho.

exactly. when the game (or its launcher) is set to run as admin, sk by default won’t get injected into the game using the global injection service UNLESS you run skif as admin (or use the elevated option from skif)

so it sounds like you had your game (and/or its launcher) running as admin also; hence needing to run sk as admin…

you might even be running all your apps by default as admin. that’s another possibility, but it’s normally not windows’s default behavior.
