I am playing the space game Chorus using Special K for HDR. I am also using Thrustmaster’s T.A.R.G.E.T. GUI software (I play using a Thrustmaster joystick). No matter what settings I try, I cannot prevent Chorus from suddenly not recognizing the joystick. This can happen during a cutscene, during alt-tab, or just flying around in combat. It happens randomly, and once it occurs there is nothing I can do to get Chorus to recognize the joystick again.
This issue does not happen when I play Chorus without Special K, so it has something to do with Special K. I have tried adjusting Special K parameters but do not seem to be able to resolve the issue, which means I cannot play Chorus with Special K.
Under Input Management / Gamepad I have tried setting Gamepad Input to Enabled using XInput slot 0, Enabled with all slots enabled, and also Disabled - did not make a difference. I have all other Gamepad options unchecked.
Please note that the joystick is fully recognized by Windows 11 the problem - joy.cpl shows the virtual Thrustmaster joystick, all the buttons are recognized, etc. The problem is that Chorus cannot see it properly, and since Chorus works fine without Special K, I think the issue might be with Special K itself.
So, I think this may be a bug, or perhaps there are other Special K options I can try?
